"I definitely have not, but you know there are many, many things I could say that about," he chuckled softly. "It really is. This whole trip has been wonderful," he told her, beaming at her. It had been the best time he'd had... well, ever.
He reached out as she did and took her hand across the table. He gave her a curious look, a slight tilt of his head as he considered what she was saying. He gave her a little shrug. "It's been a funny old time of it for you lately," he admitted after a moment. "Why not enjoy ourselves a little when we get the opportunity. It has been equally enjoyable for me," he told her. Why would she not realise how much she deserved all of it, and so much more besides.
The waitress reappeared and they split their hands for a moment to allow her to pour them wine and place the rest of the bottle in a cooler. She listed off the specials and then disappeared again saying she'd return shortly.
