Before I write anything else, I must thank you for recieving correspondence in this manner. The telephones are very useful, but I cannot say that I care for them very much. It has been quite some time since I have read an actual letter, and I find that I have missed it very much. And in my own language as well! A rare treat, indeed.
You need not apologise for anything, for I know full well how it is to be in a place such as this. I must ask how you are enjoying your studies; has anything caught your attention yet?
I am most fond of fencing, yes, and I would be delighted to accept you as a partner. You must be forgiving of my lack of skills, however, as I have not had much (if any) opportunity to practice since I arrived on the Island.
