"Mm. She's a very bitter woman indeed," he commented, which he realised was probably the most truthful he had ever been on the topic, at least to his little sister. Distance from the situation was doing wonders for him.
Apparently the women were not only going to gang up on him for teasing, but rather for showing him plenty of affection as well. It was rather overwhelming, and although he felt so very happy about it, he wasn't sure that it was translating to his face at exactly that moment. He glanced to Ashley for a moment, and then remembered.
"I'm sorry my dear, I am neglecting you," he said, more to Georgiana as he moved to actually pour her the tea she had asked for quite a while ago now. While he knew that Ashley would just take over and pour her own if she really wanted one, he knew that Georgiana would sit all day waiting on him if need be. He was sure it was a habit she could quickly break now that she was here, even if he would always feel the need to try and remember his manners.
