“With Lydia? What the devil is it with him and teenage girls?” he murmured, mostly to himself. That was what he focused on more than the fact Elizabeth had apparently changed her mind. What did it matter if he was going to be stuck on a space station anyway. Plus, it didn’t look too good on him that he would apparently ask a second time.
He took a deep breath, closed his eyes and counted to three. When he was done counting, he would stop this ridiculous emotional outburst. He turned around at last and gave her a bow by way of apology.
“I apologise, I must be embarrassing you,” he told her. “Thank you for your honest response.”
