"You were born here, and yet you still can't say anything as to how or why other people arrive here?" he asked her, a little accusatory in his tone. It was highly unusual. "Oh, magic? Very good," he practically rolled his eyes at that ludicrous explanation.
He turned his attention to Dr O'Hara in hope of a more reasonable explanation, but it was scarcely much more useful. At least he didn't make claims of magic. "Five and a half months and you have not been able to return?" he clarified, feeling a sort of dread sinking in.
"What year is it?" he asked after a slight pause. Their clothes, space stations, the 'lift', their mannerisms... he was no fool, and no matter how ridiculous the question he only had to open his eyes and glance around the 'food court' to know it wasn't just a new place.
