The moment the horse was in the barn, Miguel could move again. His samples were pretty much ruined, he realized, so he set them down on the ground. He'd tensed up so much that he'd cracked most of the jars - being that strong did have some drawbacks. He could possibly come back to sort through them later, but since he wasn't going back into the barn any time soon due to the horse, he had no new sample jars to put the plants in. His hands were shaking as he tried to look through all his samples, he realized. Fantastic. He'd probably break the jars even more. So he stood up and stepped away from them and tried to pace off a little bit of his extremely nervous energy.
"Lyla?" he asked as he paced, suddenly aware that she was gone.
"Yes, Miguel?" She didn't manifest.
"I, uhm." He had no idea what to say to her, which was stupid since she was his holoagent and she knew practically everything about him, including his stupid phobia.
"Your heart rate is dropping," she told him. "Your panic attack is passing. Continue to take deep breaths, they will help you to calm down even more. I will talk to you later."
"Okay. Thanks."
The man was returning by then, so Miguel turned to face him. "Is the horse secure?" he asked, even before answering the questions. If it got out again, Miguel intended to jump onto the barn roof. "This place likes to do that to people; I was dumped in the river a few months ago. And no, I'm not Mr Sully. I'm Dr. Miguel O'Hara." His tone was a bit brusque, but then, he was annoyed with himself and embarrassed. He still offered his hand to the newcomer, though.
