"Yes. Likewise, Miss Sully," he nodded politely. He fell almost instantly into that awkward feeling where every possible sentence or conversational strand just seemed to disappear from his mind before he could grasp at it. Possibly because he was very aware that his boots were full of water, and despite the clement enough atmosphere he could feel his skin starting to shiver lightly.
He glanced around them - partly to make his silence less odd, partly in case he spotted the horse, but also just to take in his new surroundings. Something felt... off. Strange. Even a quick look had him nearly convinced - this wasn't Hertfordshire at all. How strange.
"Erm... you... you're family... you... live locally?" he tried for something resembling small talk. It still felt so alien to him, although it was a vast improvement in fact.
