Genevieve shared Amos' feelings. It was refreshing to go out with someone who was just as fascinated by the world they explored as she was. "They did!" she exclaimed, still bemused by the whole idea of the creatures. "Maybe it was hurt." That idea made her sad. She knew nothing about these animals but she still hoped they were not in pain. No one should be in pain. No one... except for the people who inflicted it on others. There was a definite point where her empathy stopped. "I hope not." Wide eyes looked up at him. "I hope they are just showing off." A smile. A kinder thought. It amused her.
"But let's go! I want to show them to you!" She snatched his hand like she so often did with the girls and turned to lead. A second later she froze and turned back to glance at their entwined hands. "Sorry. Is this something people do?" She released his hand. "I am not used to being around strangers."
