Peter nodded again. "I used to be him," he said with a small shrug. Although a lot had changed for him since then, he was still the same person, even if his face bore the scars of his trials.
Peter was touched that Lucy would invite him for lunch. Women here seemed to be intent on feeding him, it seemed. Still, the younger version of him had warned him to stay away from his girl and Peter didn't want to annoy him even more than he already was just at his presence. "No, I'm fine, thanks," Peter replied as politely as he could whilst still wearing his customary frown. "But I'll walk you in." Lucy seemed nice. He didn't want to make her think he was a jerk like everyone else seemed to think. He may be gruffer than the Peter they all knew, but he was still the same person and, he hoped, was still a decent person underneath it all.
