He could have used the Force and pushed the water away from his legs and braces, but it wasn't going to damage either of them, so he didn't bother. "And please, call me Jake. Mr. Sully's my dad," he added, "...or possibly my brother, I'll have to ask him."
He watched the horizon as well, spotting a boat or two in the distance, before speaking again. "In the time I'm from, we couldn't have done this. The ocean was dead, full of pollution and plastics. When we were kids, my dad told us never to go in the water or it would make us sick. I never thought it could look like this until I got to the Island."
