She had no idea what was going on, why his reaction seemed so deep and visceral. But part of her understood at the same time. She just stay there for a while, not wanting to move or do anything and risk that he might disappear if she let go, letting Bruce cling to Jacob and the little boy to snuggle in to his father. But eventually she pulled herself away just enough to stand, still with her arm wrapped around him.
“We should go somewhere.” She offered. She didn’t really want to go back to their apartment, there were too many people, too much noise and too much going on. She wanted to be selfish for a little while, to have Bruce to herself and make sure this was all real. To let their family re-form before she had to share him with everyone else.
