Loki tilted his head ever so much. It was the only indication that he had heard her talk. Silently, however, he listened to her and closed his eyes. There had always been a resistance against advice, especially when it came from a mortal. Too many fools thought they knew better than him and urged him to try things he had already attempted many times before. People overlooked his true potential easily. He was the younger prince. The weak son. He was sick of the image.
But here and now he listened. It was a compliment of the highest regard. A small step towards a partnership, whatever that might entail. With the rest of his sensations cut out, he tried again. It was harder to make the connection. He reached out into the dark. But once he could feel it, it was easy to concentrate on with the world around him shut out. He could feel its shudders. He built up a force and unleashed it.
Crack! The rock had crashed into the trees behind it. Loki ripped open his eyes. "Hmm..." was all he said.
