There was no warning before the magic engulfed the human. With a subtle movement of his free hand magic wrapped itself around them. A second later the scenery around them changed. The corridor had vanished and instead a hall around them had appeared. It was huge. A walkway with little fires were at its centre spread out in front of them. Desks and sofas were seated around it over carpets of a creamy colour. The floor beneath them was a dark wood, just like the massive wooden pillars to either side of the walkway. They stretched over two stories and behind them lay shelves after shelves of books. Most were huge leather bound tomes filled with knowledge of past millennia. They were of indescribable worth. Some the only examples left in Loki's world.
Despite its riches in dark wood, the room was not dark; light flooded through the transparent ceiling. On the other hand of the hall two staircases reached a second landing. He mused that Katherine was upstairs in her alcove. It was where she was usually found.
"Katherine! Your friend is here," he shouted out before he leaned closer to the young man. The volume of his voice dropped. "This is my home. I understand that you will neither damage not soil it in any other way, mortal."
