When Luna started to tell the story of the island, Amos found it very difficult to follow. A lot of the language she used was unfamiliar to him, and he was having a lot of trouble grasping at the facts, if there were any in there. He furrowed his brow and tried to really concentrate, but although he understood words and sentences in isolation, it was surprisingly difficult to make sense of them.
"So... we are here to... rebuild a civilisation?" he questioned, hoping that he had managed to get to the heart of what she was actually saying. That much made a sort of sense.
But this part was where he got confused. "Placed here. You keep saying this - arrived, placed, appeared. I think I understand the purpose, but who placed us? The government? And what makes us so... worth saving? Or is it just random luck?" he was asking, even though he felt annoyed with himself for being curious. Just say 'yes ma'am' and deal with it. He should have learned that much by now. "It's okay, from one complacent prison to another, what difference does it really make."
