It felt like forever since Amos had seen another person, when in reality it had been only a day or so. When he'd looked back towards the city and seen the clouds of dust settling, just for a moment he'd worried that he was quite alone in the world. Perhaps it was a wake-up call. He'd been so determined to detach himself from human society, but when it seemed like he may have got his wish after all, it hadn't been happiness that he'd felt.
So, when he saw the young woman appear in front of him, he couldn't help but smile. "Not as glad as I am," he told her honestly. She was a curious looking creature, petite, ethereal and seemingly fragile - and yet not fragile at all at the same time.
