Her father. Her brother. His mother. So many members of her extended Sully family. And between being pulled around in time and the people lost to the island - too many friends to count. Even the full use of her soon-to-be husband's legs. Not that it changed the way she felt about him, but she knew it made his life harder at times, and in turn, she mourned for that loss.
"My rings will be a constant symbol of Jake and the promises I'm about to make to him. Even if the station separates us again. Even when death separates us until we're both one with the force. Plus, Jake made it for me. It will always have a place in my heart because of that." She loved her rings. "The purpose is to declare the commitment we have made in front of our friends and family and to announce it to those who don't know us. It's a recognition of a very important passage in our lives." She paused. "Jedi have knighting ceremonies, yes? Would they be any less skilled with the force without the ceremony? Any less committed to the light side without it? No. But they still have the ceremony. It also marks a special, lifelong commitment. That's meaningful. Such commitments should be celebrated and honoured. That's what we were doing today."
"What will you do with your bitterness?" She asked, just as bluntly. "What purpose does it serve you, Heather, my mother or anyone else?"
