"No," Katherine said with a tiny shake of her head. Her phone buzzed. She pulled it out but did not unlock it. "This is my dad, you know. I don't remember the man that held me when I was a baby. But this is my dad." She glanced back at the man on the bed and let herself drop onto her mother. "I don't think I would want to switch him for the man you knew." It was harsh and cruel. But she couldn't feel any other way. The other man was a stranger to him.
She took a deep breath and switched open the phone to scan the replies and start answering them.
