Katherine nodded briskly and pried herself away from her mother. It took all her strength to let go of those comforting arms. "He's, uhm, in the bedroom." A deep breath. A step forward. She really didn't want to go back in there and see the evidence. But shutting your eyes never worked, did it?
Slowly, she pushed open the door again. The tears started to flow once more as she stepped back into the room. The massive bed was set against the wall to their right. Gold linen covered it and the outside light drew long sunny stripes across them. Loki lay in its centre. His skin greyish, head turned to one side in an awkward angle. The covers were pulled up to his chest and a simple green shirt protected the visible part of his body from anyone's view. A giant mirror hung above the bed and an armchair stood next it. It was where she had cowered for the last few minutes.
