"No." Addie whined. She didn't like being up this early when nobody else was. There was no one to play with and she wasn't allowed to try and make anything to eat in the kitchen by herself without a grownup around after when she'd tried to make pancakes a month ago.
She climbed the rest of the way and put her little arms around her father's neck.
Her mother stirred slightly and rolled over. "Elyssa?" the voice was thick with sleep and Addie doubted mommy was even really awake. "What is it?"
