Miguel & Richie
"Most of the time that word is probably harmless, but you never know when you're tempting fate." Richie explained. "There have been a time or two when Isabel's powers have gone haywire for example, and anyone who happened to wish for something would automatically get it, even if it was just for a sandwich or something equally banal. It's better just not to risk it."
He listened intently as Miguel talked and nodded. "I'd like to discuss what sorts of things you're able to fix through genetic engineering sometime soon." He made a mental note to get all the doctors in the same room and sat down together to discuss what they knew and how to move medicine forward. This wasn't the island where he'd grown up around most of the doctors and knew them well.
"As for the rest, well they say any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. Maybe it's some insane AI with tech beyond our wildest dreams. Either way, if you can figure it out I'm sure everyone here would be grateful. You don't strike me as the sort of person to just give up trying to understand things."
