The merman bit his lip and closed his eyes for a moment as if willing himself to be a saint. It was so difficult and in the end he failed. He met himself in the middle. "You make it very hard not to look back, Miss Lucy!" he told her with a chuckle. "But I will restrain myself like the gentleman I am!" He cowed.
"It stops. The ride is a set amount of time, like two minutes or something like that. I'll buy us our tickets." He point at a rectangular stall where a woman was selling tickets behind a clear plexiglass window much like you would see at a theatre, but was it only her and then a gate beside it where another attendant was taking tickets and letting people line up for the next go around.
