Maria peered down into her cup and inhaled the scent of the coffee, checking to make sure that it was her Mama's method and not her Dad's version of brew. She took a few slow sips, letting it warm her as she decided between treading carefully and being honest. "I'll be okay." She signed back. "It feels like I've lost so much. My friends are babies or not here yet. All the work I put into the station is gone. You, Papa, Mom, Mama, my siblings, you don't know me." In one moment, her entire life had been changed.
Life had changed for her parents too. Their baby girl was suddenly all grown up, and yet they still had the younger version of herself there. How many more of their children would come back as adults, changing their family each time - it was a lot to consider. She knew her parents loved having a big family, but there had to be limits. "Are you okay?"
