It had taken a lot of humming and hawing over leaving her kids for a babysitter. It wasn't as if she didn't know Addie was going to be an excellent sitter, there was something about her niece that screamed she was made for that job. But she just didn't want to be a burden. And what she had hoped would be a long few months became too few months as Henry began to excel over any of Harri's milestones. Sarah was just weeks from the soreness that delivery left her in. But the call of science beckoned her, and being weak when it came to gaining more knowledge she hadn't been able to resist the offer. She felt a sort of kinship in Miguel. It practically screamed brethren. Talking about ways to find out whether her parents were alright, scientifically, had woken something that had been hibernating inside her ever since the Spire came down. As strong as the call was, she didn't go in. She didn't brush her hand against the sensor that would raise the door. Instead, Sarah lovingly brushed her fingers over the odd metals. Knowing what she would find behind it would be nothing like what had been in Tony's R&D labs. She stood in a dress, which made it easy to get to her knee in case it started to ache, and lab coat, to keep the dress clean. Or as clean as possible. |
