Cassian was still too stunned at K-2SO having been given a human form to do more than stare as the droid, no, man, approached. Was it really him? Or was this truly an elaborate plot?
The thought was dismissed as soon as it popped in his head. Of course it wasn't some elaborate Imperial plot, the idea was absurd. If he'd been captured they wouldn't go through all the trouble to make him think he was in a place like this and that there was no Empire. They'd simply pump him full of drugs and torture him until he broke.
And then Jyn arrived. She looked exactly the same as she had when he'd last seen her at Scarif, just before the fireball from the Death Star's strike on the planet made them one with the Force. Three days ago for him, moments for her. "Jyn. It's good to see you."
He closed his eyes for a heartbeat, shoving all the emotions seeing these two had brought up in him back in a box and locking it shut. Freaking out and turning into a gibbering wreck could happen later. In private. If it was really Kay-tu in that blonde body, he would understand, and he suspected Jyn would as well despite the brief time they knew each other.
They'd gone through a lot in such a short time.
Cassian opened his eyes again and felt calmness take over. There was a job to do, get Kay some clothes.
When Kay-tu responded to Jyn, any doubts he had as to the man's identity vanished. There was no one in the galaxy who was quite so irascible as K-2SO. His lips curled upwards and he nodded. "You warned us all right. Let's get you something to wear."
