Who: Darcy and Bucky What: A visit Where: Darcy’s Apartment When: Wednesday (backdated) Closed/Low/Ongoing
Darcy had really waited too long to ask for Bucky to come visit. She knew that. But she hadn’t wanted to need it. She wanted to be able to do this on her own. She just couldn’t seem to figure out how. She’d tried a few times, to do things on the network or wander out of the apartment, but her comments never seemed to go anywhere and she got too nervous when she was out for too long, and with the station as spread out as it was, she hadn’t actually run in to anyone.
She was grateful for Loki, the food he’d gotten for her for Jacob had been good for him and she was able to just find that over again, but that had really been her only interaction with anyone else since Bucky had found her in the hall and it wasn’t exactly close, calming conversation.
She’d done her best to take care of herself but, more often than not, most of her energy was spent on Jacob and her own needs fell behind. She had showered but not bothered to wash her hair so it was a bit stringy and hang limp over her shoulders. She’d lost a bit of weight and found herself gravitating back to the wardrobe of bulky sweaters and oversized everything that she had favored before the island, before Bruce, so she looked even smaller.
She knew Bucky wouldn’t care, but she tried anyway, to make herself more presentable, less...neglected. She checked on Jacob in his crib next to her bed and then moved to the closet. She traded her baby food stained sweater for a clean one, and put on some leggings to replace the threadbare pajama pants she’d been in. She briefly attempted to brush her hair but quickly gave up and threw it into a messy knot on the top of her head instead. She checked on Jacob’s crib again before crawling back in to the bed to wait.
