WHO: Maria Barton-Stark and open! WHERE: Outside the space station and then inside. WHEN:When she's sent back in time. WHAT: Arriving, surprising someone. WARNINGS: None
Maria wore her spacesuit and tethered herself to the station. She was carrying gear, doing a survey to see if anything was in need of repair. It was also a good excuse to be outside. Space walks had an unique beauty and there was no sound out there. No one, not even a new arrival, would try to talk to her. Or start screaming as if she'd hear them that way, when all it did was make it harder for her to lip read. There was simply the stars and the station. When she alone - she thought of it as her station, even her baby.
As she walked along the side of the station, it became clear that something was wrong with her 'baby'. The additions she'd made over the years were gone. She frowned deeply. No one could have undone all of them without her noticing. This was some 'station magic', messing with her and possibly a sign of worse to come.
She walked towards the nearest airlock, pausing when she saw someone through the window. She waited until they had made eye contact, pointed to herself and then the airlock doors. Her way of letting them know she was coming inside. She then pointed to them - 'you', and towards the next room - 'go there'. She then held her hands up, palms facing each other, fingers up and swung her hands forwards as if they were closing doors. - 'and shut the doors behind you'. She kept gesturing until they got it. She didn't want anyone to be sucked out into space.
Once the person was safe, she opened the airlock, closed it behind her and took off her helmet. She couldn't help but notice that things were different inside the station too. It was all wrong and she went to the next room, looking for the person she'd seen through the window. Maybe they'd know what the hell was happening.
