Caroline grinned, looking down to hide the extent of her wide smile. Was it so weird that Stefan had enjoyed their date so much? She didn't know for sure, but she didn't think he'd really had much dating experience before Elena. Besides, even if he had had his memories, Elena wasn't exactly known for being great at planning dates. As far as Caroline could tell, Elena and Stefan had just kind of happened - not like a normal high school relationship with all the unsureness and awkwardness.
Caroline was pleasantly surprised to feel Stefan's arm around her shoulders and she happily leaned against him, her own arm moving to slip around his waist. "I guess, if we'd had the picnic here, we wouldn't have been able to come for a romantic walk on the beach," she said, only half teasing. "Because freezing weather is totally romantic," she added, with a giggle.
