Thomas took a step outside into the restaurant. It was a simple place and yet it was strange. A modern Korean make with Renaissance flower patterns decorating the walls.
He kept his distance from the woman. It was tempting to take just a nibble. He had done it so many times. But why it sustained him, it never reached the point of satisfaction. He couldn't take that.
"This place sells this, uh, stuff." He grabbed what looked like a pack of astronauts' food. It was a see through pack which held a dark green paste inside. A short straw enabled the buyer to suck out the liquid. "This one tastes like a mix between fish, apricots and hummus." He wrinkled his nose. "It's not a good combination."
