Bryn raised a brow at the look he gave her. Had she gone too far? Grown something weird? A second head maybe? Did she have something sticking out of her nose? She did check her face because of the last thought.
But then he splashed her, and she laughed out loud. A hand came up, expecting the splatter to be more than it was. She grinned at him.
"No, I don't fear death. I can't say it would be the way I wanted to go, but if that's what the fates chose there is little that I can do to sway them. But it is less likely now. If I didn't have my bracelet there are always shadows. It's not the most comfortable hiding place, but it won't kill me. But I do not sleep like I did when I was young. It is a choice, unless I am damaged." She wet her lips slowly. "Why?"
