He took whatever Arthur had brought over to him and nodded when he discovered he was holding a pair of sunglasses. Putting them on with rather shaky hands, he tried opening one of his eyes again. It was still painful, but nothing like before; bracing himself, he blinked so that both eyes were open. Everything was still incredibly blurry and far brighter than he was used to, and yes, his eyes were streaming tears to try and wash out whatever was so damned painful, but he didn't care. He could see. He could see Arthur.
"Hello, love," he said with a grin, "you're looking... blurry as fuck, actually." All the squinting and blinking in the world wasn't making his eyes clear up any faster, but he didn't give a shit.
