Katherine nodded before she bent over her own bag and browsed through the collection of training weapons. She picked the one she had never dared to use with her uncle: a steel replica of the sceptre with blunt edges instead of the razor sharp ones. It only followed its shape and not its colour. Her father had helped with the creation so that she had an opportunity to learn how to utilise its shape and peculiarities. But it had only ever been used in training with her father, not wanting to give away that she intended to face more than the next battle with it as her weapon.
She shrugged into a light vest that was laced with protective materials. It's collar protected her against strikes to the neck. Her skin was the protection against anything else. Unless she would receive a jab to the eyes, it should had held the blows of training weapons.
"Okay," she said as she appeared close to him. "Stay!" she called out to the two wolves that were on the verge of rushing after her. They halted in their tracks and instead sat down on their haunches.
"Sparring or drills? What do you want to start with?" She was almost excited now. A new opponent, a new challenge.
