Abi didn't like it, not one bit. She was scared and pregnant and trying to comfort her terrified child, huddled under a desk in her partner's study. She didn't know how anyone could handle a war zone if the few explosions and shudders they'd felt were anything to go by. Hemingway was a true hero, protecting them, helping her scared mind go through everything and be strong for Charlie.
"Look at that," Abi said brightly with a smile on her face. "Papa's gonna be back any second and we'll go on an adventure!" Abi willed her unborn baby to stay safe and unborn through all this stress; she'd never forgive Kat if anything were to happen to any of her family. "Just you and me and Papa on a big adventure!"
A suddenly shocked, worried reaction spread slowly across his face. Charlie leant out of her arms and shouted at the top of his lungs, "PAPA, GET RUPERT! I FORGOTTED HIM!" he screamed, sounding distressed as he clutched the torch.
