Laura was neither alarmed nor shocked when the creature landed behind her. She simply swiveled around when Jake ran past her to slit it's throat. "Yes I can imagine." Had she not been when he had actually vanished? The word death, or dead, or dying, was not something she could speak when she thought of Jake. Losing one friend to the void had been enough. Vanishing was easier to deal with than death.
"I reek, but things are dying when I find them, so all is not bad." No doubt he could smell her. She flicked her dripping hand away from them both, in attempt to rid herself of some of the shredded viscera. "Besides the fall, and the fact that you are bleeding gratuitously... How is it going for you?" Small talk would never be her strong suit.
Without warning or pause, Laura hefted a very large handgun, took aim without actually looking, and shot another 'thing'. It landed with a wet thud, as she struck it between the eyes.
