The knock sent a startle wave through her body. Katherine placed the orange juice on the counter and took a calming breath. Myrkvan who had found her way back into the kitchen watched the door with mild interest. "Oh god..." she muttered softly to herself.
"You can come on in," she called out from the kitchen why she made her way over. "The door is open." Katherine only ever locked them during the night. The biggest threat had been eliminated when they had exchanged the door handle for a knob - that way Fenrir couldn't open it any more. She doubted it would do any good at fighting off attackers. Everything that could overwhelm them while they were awake would not be disturbed by a simple door. She stepped into the wide open hallway that was decorated by huge pictures she had taken. Fenrir, Asgard, her family, the Eiffel tower and Rivendell had all stood model.
