The elevator doors opened just as Juliet spoke, and Jake pushed his chair out into the little alcove that led to the pool room. He was already tired, his hands shaking very slightly, but he insisted on pushing the chair for as long as he could. "Jules?" he asked, and kept moving out to the poolside. He didn't get too close to the edge, since he didn't know the chair well enough yet to know what to do if it started rolling into the water or anything like that, but that meant that he wouldn't get to see Juliet properly. Fucking hell.
"Hey, you," he said as soon as he saw her, grinning down at his niece.
