Jake blinked at her reaction. "I'm sorry, I didn't... Did I do it wrong? Nobody back on Earth had the Force and I didn't want to use it in case anyone found out and, y'know, took me away to do experiments... It's been eleven years, I've forgotten a lot. I'm real sorry, I won't do that again without checking."
At least he wasn't going to be stuck for something to do, he told himself. He had a shitload of work to do to get any level of skill with the Force back again, never mind what he might need to do to learn to use a wheelchair. Sure, he'd been shown how to steer and get in and out and all that, but getting good at it was going to take time.
"About Sunila," he began, and then paused. "Well, it's both of us, really. This is what I wanted to ask you. We want to get married, and... Is it a Jedi thing? I know I'm nowhere near being a Jedi, but Sunila is, and. I'm not asking this too well, am I?" He paused again, collected his thoughts and started once more.
"If this was a Jedi ceremony, is there anything I'd need to do? Anything special? I want to do something for her, y'know?"
