"The ocean is a beautiful thing. Any ocean." Cora raised an eyebrow. "Are the tunnels marked? I don't want to swim into someone else's home." That could create a great deal of trouble, especially if it was the wrong person. Not that she thought this woman's family and friends were pirates, but caution was always best.
Cora frowned. "Mer should not war between each other. There are enough dangers for us." To her, it had been the pirates that took her parents. She'd heard tales of other threats. She gave an understanding nod. "War is always difficult to talk about. The memories are bad. Does having the city help or bring up more memories?"
"Enchanted gadgets?" Cora asked. She knew some mermaids who thought every human trinket was charmed. She didn't take it as far, but she appreciated genuine magical objects. "More mer people?"
