Juliet preferred staying out at sea if she could help it, unless she were at her parents' place. Her time away from the island had left her stuck in her mer form, or at least none of the things she could remember working in the past worked now if she remembered it right. To say the least it was frustrating as hell.
It also made her wary of getting too close to land, preferring to stay where she could move freely without getting trapped. Going through the tunnels made her nervous, but she loved her family and that overrode her nervousness enough to go to the family pool to visit. Aside from that she'd steered clear of land when she wasn't trying to change back.
At least she had Cris, and that made up for a lot. She felt safe and loved when she was with him, that was all she needed.
Something moved below her, spotted out of the corner of her eye, and Juliet dived down to investigate.
