"And you're more handsome," she grinned at him and leaned over to give him a peck on the lips. "Even when you have legs instead of that beautiful tail." She'd clung to him those first few days she'd been back, afraid the island would snatch her back to that place or take him instead. It had taken a good week before she'd started to relax a little, though not being able to change to human no matter what she tried was stressful on its own merit.
She knew what he meant when he asked the question and nodded. "Today's a good day." There hadn't been any nightmares that night and she'd managed not to think about the other place much. "Have you been having fun out in the city today?"
