Katherine nodded against his chest. The hesitation hurt, even though she knew that she would love him less if he would abandon his realm for a woman. Love. She had never said those three words - the classic of any romance novel. She hated cliches but even more so did she hate dependency. This was the ultimate one. Love constructed far greater shackles than money ever could. Did she even love him? How did you know these things? Her heart did the fluttering; he made her blush with the most meaningless gestures. But love was not a silliness. She pushed the thought away. She did not want it. Everything was fine the way it was right now.
"Let's talk about something merrier," she spoke up after a moment of silence. "What could we entertain ourselves with? There has not been a door to another world in a while. I am getting restless."
