"You might not find anything better, worse, or different on another plane. Maybe you would become something else, like Amren, trapped in a body not of your own but unable to leave that new world, either." For a moment he looked sorrowful. He never was able to rip open the space between worlds back home for Amren. The book had been so close but so far from his reach.
