Tony had been sort of isolating himself lately. He didn't completely cut himself off but he wasn't totally present either. He helped with the kids in the morning, got them up and fed and so forth. Then once he was sure the others could handle it, he was off to his lab. He didn't even really have anything to work on, he just tinkered. Thinking about things. It was something he did when he was feeling guilty. He hadn't gotten so drunk that night that he didn't remember every minute of it. There was little bits and pieces that were kind of fuzzy, but he pretty much remembered. He knew that he'd gotten very drunk, and he knew that he'd come very close to cheating on his spouses. It was enough to almost drive him to drink again. But rather than doing that, he just went to the lab and worked. For some reason he didn't feel comfortable in his workshop at the house. He just needed some distance. He kept his phone on and told them that he was just a phone call away if he was needed and then went. Tony was working on a gauntlet for a new set of armor. It wasn't that much different from his previous armor, but there were minor adjustments. He wanted to make sure that it was absolutely perfect, though. That there weren't any flaws. If he was nothing else, he was certainly a perfectionist. He had his usual hard rock going but didn't have it on full blast like he usually did. Just a couple of decibels above normal listening volume. Made it easier to shut his brain off and just work. |
