A city? There was very suddenly a city. Why was there a city now all around her? These were not the surrounds she'd left behind. Eve was in her arms and she held her a little tighter to her chest, stroking her head softly. It was morning, but the sky was clouded heavily, grey - there was a chilling sort of wind picking up too. Sounds seem to filter back in – sharper than usual, louder. Scents too, from downwind there were scents that ..well only the wolf could pick up on, George would've known exactly what they were, he was much more skilled, used to picking one scent from the other, mostly it was all a mess to her, a confusing one. But there was possibly, fear? Adrenaline? Mixed, entwined with the more familiar to the human senses; ..the smells of the ocean, fuel; not so far from here, pushed in toward the city by the wind. If nothing else, the incredibly sharpened senses at once warned her. Full-Moon. It had to be soon, tonight even? Mingled along with everything else there was the heavy, unpleasant whiff of over-ripe fruits, moulding food. Foreboding was one of the words that came instantly to mind. However, above the incredibly heightened senses, the sights and smells there was a rather more pressing fact. She had absolutely no fucking idea where she was, she'd been in her room, sitting with Eve ..and she'd probably drifted off, at least as best she could remember. But a city ..a generally deserted looking city was not the last place she remembered being. So, having said that – it was probably a trick, or an illusion, or just one of those things that would be temporary. So the here and now would change, that maybe they'd been dumped somewhere entirely vacant of other people once again, free of trauma or surprise. A place designed to be a relaxing retreat. But nothing about this place relaxed her, made her feel at ease or even glad to be there. All she felt was unease, pooling in her stomach. It just might've been nice if she'd been dumped somewhere with Annie? Somewhere with ..directions. As if she could sense this troubling turn of events, or perhaps even smell them too, Eve started to whimper. In truth, it was more likely she was hungry or she would be soon. “It's all right.” She murmured, trying to soothe her daughter with a gentle sort of bouncing motion. “We're ..just completely lost, in a- entirely unfamiliar ..city.” She noted with a heavy sigh out, starting to move toward the nearest shop window to peer in, see if there was someone, anyone there. |
