Henry had taken to stashing a few sets of clothes around the park for when he would pop up there. It made it easier than getting all the way back to the antique shop completely naked. Especially now that he didn't have Abraham there to bring him anything. He'd spent a great deal of time at the hospital and never really paid attention to his phone so he hadn't noticed right away. It was Abraham no longer threatening to microwave his food that first made him even check. He'd lost a lot of people in his life. Friends and family. People he outlived. Yes, losing them had hurt but he'd expected it and moved on. For some reason, Abraham's disappearance from the island hurt more than finding out that Abigail had killed herself to protect his secret. It meant that his son was home without him and with no idea where he was or when he'd come back. Just like when Abigail left. He hated the idea of Abraham going through that again. So he tried. He did everything he could think of to get back home. He'd heard that death could send you back, but what was a person who couldn't die supposed to do? Though that wasn't entirely true. He did die regularly, he just never actually stayed dead. He could at least try. And try, and try, and try. Eventually this place would have to send him home, right? Though it seemed that the previous five attempts did nothing so far. Coming out of the water, Henry made his way over to a nearby bush, pulling out the waterproof bag and grabbing the towel that was in it. He dried off quickly, put on the pants and t-shirt. He really did hate it, but it was better than wandering around naked. He made a mental note to include shoes in the next stash of clothing as he gathered everything up and started out of the park. |
