"You're perfect, just the way you are," Abi reassured him gently, giving him a wink as well. She really didn't want to see him look any different than he already did, given that she was far too used to seeing her Hemingway with that thing on his face. She got the best kinds of burns in all sorts of places sometimes but it was all worth it to see him just as she knew him.
Abi quietly peeked into Charlie's door and smiled as she saw him looking up at her a little sleepily, his legs tangled in the sheets. "Hey honey bunny, you want a snack? Papa made it just for you and he wants to play Thomas and we're going to make some cookies for tea time." she beamed.
"Mmmm cookies..." he said, kicking off the blanket. "Carry me?" Charlie held up his arms and whist he was getting a little too big for it every day, she couldn't help but indulge and scooped him into her arms, blanket, Rupert and all. "Let's find Papa.."
"He's making us all a yummy snack, let's see if we can find him."
