A broad grin spread across his face as she called him their hero. He couldn't explain how thrilled he was to know that she still thought of him that way, even when she had seen him at his lowest and weakest. He usually hated for anyone to see that part of him, but he knew that he could trust her with it.
"You know I'd give you my last cookie," he insisted cheesily.
He could see her building up to her kiss, he could see the love in her eyes and every last bit of worry seemed to just fade away as she looked at him like he really was her hero. Then her lips were on his, and he felt the loving warmth of it spread through his body as he moved his lips sweetly against hers in return. He sighed happily, and gave her a dopey smile.
"Abi-" he stopped her for a second, just holding her lightly in place. "Thank you."
