[Left out on the bedside table is a short story manuscript. The title page reads "The Princess & The Old Man", with "For Abi & Charlie" as a dedication.

It is a short story about the most wonderful princess raising a little prince on her own. She gives everything she has to the little prince but feels an emptiness as she forgets who she is in the process.

The Old Man is sad and lonely and the whole world is changing around him. He is lost at sea and terribly afraid until he sees the light of her castle and sails to her.

Together, they help each other. The Old Man is no longer lonely, the Princess remembers who she really is, and the little Prince grows up to be a man of value, guided by them both together.
