"Billions." Maggie repeated. "I know there were a lot. I guess I never thought about an exact number though. So many stories. So many lives that could be brought here and changed forever." She glanced over at him. "Your daughter's book? It's not the same as yours? If it's not too personal, can I ask if you read it?" She wasn't sure if she'd want her own dad reading about her life, what it was like to grow up without him and the most private details.
"I did." Maggie said with a nod. "And I do miss all of it." She had connections in the construction business, thanks to her foster family, and she might have even opened a company of her own some day. "I like to think we can have a promising future here too." After she heard how that sounded out loud, she quickly added. "I meant, we as in all the people on the island." She swayed on the swing, moving it back and forth. She always found ways to fidget when she was nervous. "I..uh..we can spend time together beyond today at the park too."
