Rhysand nodded as he listened, turning his head so he could see her from where he lay. He had kicked off his shoes and was finding himself quite comfortable on the bed, one leg laying off the side now.
"I appreciate it, but you are allowed to judge and say what you like." He smiled thinly. "I know there will never be acceptance by the family and loved ones of those I've shattered, but one for thousands was a choice I made. Daily. I suppose my death toll is in the hundreds by now."
He shrugged.
"I'm the high lord no one liked for a reason. I had to keep it that way to keep Velaris safe. I wish you could see it, then you would understand just how beautiful my world was..." Rhysand sighed.
"But don't worry about me, Kitty Kat. I carry the weight alone, and it's perfectly fine." He reached out a hand once again. "Why don't you come rest with me? We'll talk about something else. You can vent more about that terrible woman if you like." He grinned.
