Peggy didn't know what she needed, let alone what Steve did. No matter what though, she knew that Steve would always go back to Bucky in the end. The man had tried to make soup of his face and still Steve's loyalty never waivered from Bucky. Sometimes it felt like Bucky would always be forgiven of anything he did or said, even in hypothetical theory, just because of who Steve was. Peggy wished she could so easily do that but had never even trusted Steve like that. To her, respect and love were earned through words and gestures.
"I don't know what I need you to do, Buck, neither does Steve?" she asked of the man with his head in her lap. "We're completely blind sided by this, it's... hard to process what's going on because right now it feels like someone is playing a cruel trick on us all." she replied, her eyes drawn and tired. "But we still love you. But you need to get it into your head that this isn't an instant fix. I can't click my fingers and make my hurt go away, let alone yours or yours," she said, turning on the last word to glance at Steve. "Relationships don't actually get fixed at the end of an episode."
